What changed

Agilysys announced that IHG Hotels & Resorts has approved InfoGenesis as a POS option for its portfolio. Agilysys says it is now a global POS provider for IHG across Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials, Suites and Partner brands. Agilysys also says IHG uses InfoGenesis at select resort hotels, which the release does not name. Approval makes InfoGenesis available as an option; properties are not required to adopt it.

Why a business should care

Agilysys says InfoGenesis integrates with IHG’s property management systems to give staff real-time access to guest transactions, enable room charges across outlets and support industry-standard revenue detail posting. For operators considering the option, those functions may be relevant to service and payment workflows.

Who it affects

IHG portfolio properties and their operators, across all hotel segments, that may consider InfoGenesis as a POS option. Agilysys says select resort hotels already use it.

What to consider doing

Operators can assess whether the option fits their property’s needs and confirm implementation and commercial details with IHG or Agilysys before deciding whether to adopt it.

Uncertainty and risks

Agilysys did not name the resort hotels or provide commercial terms. Product capabilities and integration details described here are Agilysys claims.
